Kent County Council have announced Operation Brock will be lifted this coming weekend. The contraflow will be lifted overnight from Sunday 1 September running into Monday 2 September. A section of the motorway will be closed with diversions in place until the motorway returns to standard two-way traffic. National Highways are about to start resurfacing and barrier replacement works along the A20 in Dover, Resurfacing works will be on the A20 eastbound carriageway from junction with A256 York Street to Eastern Docks roundabout, including some westbound carriageway. Mont Blanc Tunnel will undergo structural maintenance and will be closed to all traffic from Monday, September 2, 2024, at 17:00 until Monday, December 16, 2024, at 17:00. Several alternative routes are recommended. At 60 years old, the Mont Blanc Tunnel is one of the first major European tunnels to undergo extensive structural renovation.
