From 31st January 2025, it will be a legal requirement for hauliers to complete a Safety and Security (S&S) declaration for all goods entering the UK.
Key Points to Note:
- A valid S&S Movement Reference Number (MRN) must be added to your Goods Movement Reference (GMR).
- The carrier (operator of the transport vehicle) is responsible for ensuring the declaration is submitted on time.
- Only a representative or third party, with the carrier’s consent, can submit the declaration.
- Failure to complete the S&S declaration before reaching the port of export may result in delays or fines.
