Fjord Line statement:
From Monday 16.03 Fjord Line will offer departures from Hirtshals to Kristiansand and Stavanger. Daily departures to Kristiansand and two roundtrips to Stavanger pr week.
The situation regarding COVID – 19 Virus is escalating and new regulations have been implemented in the last 24 hours. Fjord Line has the upmost focus on security and hygiene on our vessels and onshore, and we have strong routines as mentioned in yesterdays press release.
As a consequence of the new regulations for travelling of passengers between the countries, Fjord Line have made some changes to our Schedule from next week to offer our freight clients the best possible service. We are moving one of our vessel more or less in to a “Freight only” mode, open for truck drivers with their trucks, and unaccompanied trailers as well.
Fjord Line’s ro-pax set up on our routes and vessels, is based on a high income from the passenger market to be able to offer a freight solution as well. In light of the current situation with more or less no passengers travelling on our vessel, we have to make some extraordinary changes to our price setup in this period to be able to make this happen for the market.
We expect a heavy number of contacts made to Fjord Line by both phone and email. We apologize in advanced for a longer then usual respond time from our teams. Our dedicated staff will do everything they can to assist you all with your questions and requests.
Furthermore we expect that all Freight drivers travelling with our vessels complies with the routines and actions set by the authorities in order to prevent spreading of the corona virus. Minimal contact with our staff is advised, and minimal of papers etc. should be exchanged.
