Condor Ferries Accompanied Freight Driver Bookings
Statement Reads:
With the position on Covid-19 escalating daily, Condor Ferries has taken the difficult decision to halt the practice of carrying accompanied freight drivers on the two conventional ferries between its four ports of operation.
With effect from the Commodore Goodwill departure from Portsmouth on the evening of Sunday 15th March, and the Commodore Clipper departure from Portsmouth on the morning of Monday 16th March, nobody will be permitted to sail on her other than essential crew members.
Unaccompanied vehicles will still be shipped but will be subject to strict handling protocol by Condor staff and Stevedores, as advised by the Government Healthcare Specialists.
This will be enforced for an initial four week period and will be reviewed during this period.
The purpose of this is to protect the lifeline freight services to the Channel Islands and retain a sterile environment both ashore and at sea in order to do so.
